Terp Holiday Roundup

12/23/2010 2:04:26 PM Before I bid you farewell for the Holidays (I'm going to Jamaica through the 1st); I wanted to leave you with some tidbits as we look to the new year.  (Don't worry, Gregg and Ethan will be here to provide analysis and game threads in my absence).

First a couple of minor housekeeping items.

1.  You may have noticed our new site design.  We aren't completely finished, so be on the lookout for some deeper features and additional pages.  Eventually, I hope to be able to provide schedules and statistics so that you don't need to jump to other pages to find out how many ppg Adrian Bowie is averaging or when Maryland plays Colgate.  I'm not sure when my webmaster will be able to get to that stuff, but it is on its way(I hope).

2.  If you'll notice, at the top left of the page, there are icons for the site's Twitter feed and Facebook page.  Please follow us or become a fan.  Eventually, the site will be better integrated with both social tools so that followers will be notified of new posts, etc.

Coaching Search:  I'm not sure what to expect now that a committee has been formed.  Part of me, wants Leach to be named the coach as soon as possible to put an end to the mess.  On the other hand; part of me agrees with a comment Jacob made on the previous thread.  It would be respectful to the Fridge to hold of on naming his replacement until after the Bowl game.  He's more than earned it.

Cupcake Month:  As for the basketball team; I remain positive. Last night's blowout won't tell us much.  For any real insight, we will have to see how we stack up against the likes of Duke and Villanova in early January.

Until then; I thought this interactive graphic would be of interest.  The good folks at StatSheet.com have created an interesting way of viewing individual player statistics.  If you mouse over any bar on the graph, it will tell you what contribution percentage each player accounts for out of the total.

Hopefully, you'll find it interesting.  I'm curious to see what (if any) insights Soupers find from this data.

Happy Holidays everyone!
