Maryland Heads To UVA For Big Clash

The Terps are getting better.  Despite losing PeShon Howard, the Terps cruised past BC on Thursday in what may have been their most complete game of the season.  The Terps got out in front early and they were able to maintain the lead for the entire game. Virginia, on the other hand, is coming off back to back losses including a do [...] Read More »

BC Thread

The Terps open up a huge four game stretch this evening when they host BC.  In succession, the Terps are home with BC, at UVA, home vs. Miami and at Georgia Tech. If the Terps go 4-0, they are on the bubble.  That would put the Terps at 8-6 in the ACC and 18-10 overall.  It starts tonight.  BC is terrible and the Terps [...] Read More »

Beat Duke (Please)

Well, the Terps are up against it now. Pe'shon Howard is lost for the year, and with him went our only reliable ball handler.  How can the Terps go on? Here's the case.  Pe was the Terps 4th or 5th best scorer.  He turned the ball over a lot for a PG he wasn't shooting that well from the floor.  As long as someone (Faust, [...] Read More »

Clemson Game Thread

Here we go again.  Another winnable road test for the Terps.  Our young Terps have been able to hang in with just about everyone they've played over the last month.  Unfortunately, they've come away with only one win.  That must change tonight if the Terps will harbor any hopes of the postseason (that includes NIT).  [...] Read More »

Miami Q&A and Game Thread

I'm reprising the oft-used blogger Q&A exchange for the Terps upcoming tilt in Miami tomorrow.  The good folks at the excellently-named Category6 have asked me a few questions about our Terps and I've returned the favor by asking them a few of my own about the Hurricanes.  We'll start with my questions to them and end with my an [...] Read More »

Terps Host Virginia Tech

The Terps have just finished a brutal three-game stretch and came up empty handed.  Not a pelt to speak of.  There were some encouraging moments and some discouraging ones.  Terps hung in against FSU, Temple, and Duke.  In fact, most of those games were close to even with 10 minutes left to play. The Terps collapsed ea [...] Read More »

DUKE Q&A and Game Thread

This is the least emotionally ready that I have been for a Maryland-Duke that I've been in years.  I have an emotional hangover from the brutal stomach-punch loss my Ravens took on Sunday plus I'm frustrated with the Terps recent play.  The Temple game left me deflated.  So, I'm trying something a little different.  Th [...] Read More »

Terps Step Out Of ACC For Big Opportunity Against Temple

I just commuted home from Mexico and landed in a Chicago snowstorm during rush hour.  I'm spent. The good news is that I don't have to play tomorrow at 11am. Our Terps however, do and will.  The Owls present a stiff test as they always seem to.  Already, Temple has knocked off Duke this year, so the Terps are going to be big r [...] Read More »

Terps Host Georgia Tech To Gain Leg Up In Topsy Turvy ACC

The ACC this year is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma.  No one can figure it out.  UNC lost to FSU today by 33 points.  33 points!  Who cares if it was in Tallahassee?  Sure, the Seminoles were preseason #3 in the conference but no one expected that. Georgia Tech dominated NC State on the road this week.&n [...] Read More »

Wake Forest Beckons

The ACC schedule is wonderful in that it offers near immediate opportunities to bounce back from defeats.  Yet, for those teams with issues that have not been fixed; losses can stack up in a hurry. The Terps hung in but never really gave me the sense that they could be NC State on Sunday.  Wake should not present that same problem but [...] Read More »
