SG/SF Terrance Ross Commits For 2010

Word on the street is that Montrose Christian star du jour Terrance Ross has verbally committed to Maryland this afternoon.  Ross is rankend by Scout.com as the #17 shooting guard in his class.  He tips the scales at 6'5", 185lbs.

His size should serve as a nice complement to fellow class of 2010-mate, Terrell Stoglin. I  don't know much about Ross other than scouts love his upside and he is athletic and rangy.   Ross is currently listed as a 4-star player, but could squeeze into 5-star status before it is all said and done.

Regardless, Gary Willams and staff have hit the trail early and have restocked the shelves in anticipation of  the backcourt departures we will see at the end of next season (Hayes, Vasquez,  and possibly/hopefully Stephenson).

Ross is a Maryland kid and Gary needs to continue to land local talent lest he face an alumni revolt.  It's good to see that the Montrose Christian pipeline is alive and well.  For we know it will apparently be a cold day in hell before anyone associated with AAU juggernaut DC Assault dons a Terrapin uniform.

Now that 2010 is shaping up, there is still the matter of 2009.  will we be bringing 1 or even 2 players to fill the 1 or possible 2 vacancies that we may or may not have?  My hope is that we get a big commit this weekend from BR.  With Kansas out of the picture; it has to be between MD and the decomposing corpse that is  the Johnnies basketball program.  If we lose out to the Red Storm, may God have mercy on our soul.
