Terps Pull Away Late as Len Impresses In Debut

At times it wasn't pretty; but the Terps looked like a complete team tonight.  Five players scored in double digits (Howard, Faust, Len, Padgett, Stoglin).  The Terps also dominated on the glass (49-28). Despite the massive rebounding disparity; the game was relatively close. Albany took outstanding care of the basketball only turning [...] Read More »

Terps Hold On For Big Win Against Notre Dame

I get it.  Notre Dame ain't what she used to be; but the Terps just beat a Big East team today-- with 6 active scholarship players.  Think about that. Ashton Pankey played exactly one minute and spent the rest of the afternoon in Turgeon's doghouse.  That left Stoglin, Weijs, Faust, Parker, Mosley, and Padgett to carry the load.& [...] Read More »

Terps Squander Chance With Flat 2nd Half

Tonight the Terps played a great first half.  Dare I say it, they dominated for most of it. Everyone was contributing and the Terps looked good in the offensive set.  It all fell apart in the second half.  I'm sure that Bruce Webber and the Illini made good adjustments, but Coach Turgeon has to be disappointed that the Terps regr [...] Read More »

Start Danny O'Brien

OK.  The CJ Brown Experiment worked for 3 quarters.  It's over.  As we learned today, you can't build an offense around the QB sneak.  I know that 100+ years of football have already proven this fact; but apparently Randy "the Edsel" Edsall needed to learn this lesson the hard way. Seriously.  Think about it.&n [...] Read More »

Terps Fall Apart; Lose 56-45

CJ Brown almost did it by himself.  Outside of Justus Pickett and Davin Meggett he had no help.  Brown set  a school records for rushing yards by a QB and he put 45 points up against the #24 ranked defense in the nation. Yet it was not enough.  Not even close.  That's because Maryland's receivers are the worst I've ever [...] Read More »

Maryland Comeback Falls Short; Lose 21-16 To GT

The Terps played valiantly in the second half despite losing Andrew Gonnella for the season with a compound leg fracture.  Edsall benched Danny O'Brien at the start of the second half and backup CJ Brown led the comeback.  Brown is a dynamic runner who demonstrated the ability to gain the edge and get downfield.  Unfortunatel [...] Read More »

Temple Rolls Over Terps

It must have felt like old times for Randy Edsall this afternoon.  He got hammered by a non-BCS school.  When UConn entered Division I (or FBS or whatever 3 letter acronym they go by now); drubbings by D-I also-rans were routine.  Unfortunately for Edsall and Terp fans these kind of performances are totally unacceptable.  Th [...] Read More »

West Virginia Recap and Meet Charles Mitchell

Yesterday's loss was brutal.  It was brutal because the Terps valiantly fought back from 24 points down only to have our best player throw an AWFUL pick to end the game. Sure, there are plenty of positives to take away from the game (defense played well in the second half, Terps ran the ball well and moved down the field with ease of the l [...] Read More »

Terps Escape Duke 21-16; Suckiness Confirmed

"We're not the number of fingers I'm holding up!"      Image by Getty Images via @daylifeSo, who had the under tonight?  Thought so.  Jeez, am I glad I don't bet on sports anymore.  How the Terps offense only mustered 14 points against that defense (7 points came on a Punt Return) is a mystery.  Elon College scored more points against Duke than the [...] Read More »

Phew! Terps Escape Raliegh With A Win

The Terps had every reason to call it quits at halftime tonight. Down 10 points and playing their 3rd game in 5 days; lesser teams would have folded. Gary was able to rally the troops despite the adversity.  In particular, Greivis Vasquez, Jordan Williams, Adrian Bowie, and Dino Gregory all made key plays to lead the comeback.Dino had the block hea [...] Read More »
