Terrapins #26 In Both Preseason Polls

This post is a little late to the game here; but the preseason ESPN Coaches Poll and AP Poll came out today and our Terps came in at #26 in both.  In the case of the AP poll, Maryland was one vote shy of #25 (171 for MD vs. 172 for Minnesota).

I think that Maryland has been ranked in the Top 25 only once or twice since 2003.  Even in those instances; MD needed to play their way into the upper echelon.

This year figures to be different.  MD will be among the hunted this year.  While not in the Top 25, a good start will ensure that MD will find its way into the group. It's been so many years since the Terps have started the season so highly regarded; I can barely contain my excitement.

If our big men are able to contribute in the following areas: defense, rebounding, and FT shooting; MD will be very good.
