Christian Sanders Commits To Stanford

The headline says it all.  The Terps have lost 3-star combo guard to Stanford.  Sanders is a sharpshooter, so in my humble opinion, he's an asset on any team.  The Terps have not exactly been "lights out" from beyond the arc, so it hurts to lose a kid who can shoot well.

On the flip side, Maryland is loaded at guard and Turgeon has his eyes on two other Houston Defender guards for 2013: the Harrison twins.  While it's true, that Sanders played on the same AAU team as Shaq Cleare and the Harrisons; I look at his Stanford commitment as a good thing.

Why, you ask?  Well, Sanders wants to get playing time or even start at the next level.  He's not going to start at Maryland if the Harrison twins follow him there.  Perhaps, Sanders knew that playing time in College Park would be scarce from his Sophomore year on; so he decided to go elsewhere.

If that is the case, Terp fans should be jumping up and down with giddiness.  Unfortunately, we won't likely find out until this time next year when the Harrisons announce their intentions.
