Maryland vs. Pitt Thread

11/18/2010 9:31:42 AM Tonight the Terps are big underdogs. Pitt has experienced guards and they have a big interior presence.

The Terps are still learning about what kind of team they are.  I think the key will be for them to get off to a strong start.  If Pitt runs out to a big lead, we may not see them again.

The Terps need to hang with Pitt for the first 30 minutes and then hope that their superior depth and pressing style will wear the Panthers down over the final 10 minutes.

Perhaps the biggest question for the Terps is which of the freshman play well.  Pitt is our first big-time opponent and that is usually when freshman tend to get the jitters.  Hopefully that won't happen to any of our guys; but we won't know for sure until tip-off.

If the Terps are to win; they will need to keep it under 20 turnovers and knock down 7-9 threes.
