ESPN's 30 for 30 series tackles the Len Bias tragedy tomorrow night at 8pm.  There isn't much left to be said about June 19th, 1986 that most Maryland fans don't already know; but I am sure that ESPN will find an angle to the story worth telling.

I remember Bias' death like it was yesterday.

I also remember the aftermath. I remember learning about cocaine (I was only 11 years old). By the following fall, my middle school was getting regular visits from a police officer, as part of Baltimore County's new drug education program.

I also remember Lefty Driesell leaving in disgrace.  I remember the athletic department descending into chaos.  Mainly, however, I just remember the grief I felt over someone death who I didn't know.

I loved Bias.  He was my idol in many ways.  He was gone in an instant.  He could have been the greatest.   I'm anxious to see what ESPN thinks.  I'll be weighing in after it airs tomorrow.
