Another Chance To Play Our Way In

3/12/2009 7:38:05 PM Before I get into the post; I want to address some of the feedback you guys have given so far.   Most of you seem to like the new look and feel of the site.  That's great.  We are going to try to get some color added back into the background.

In terms of the comments; I feel your pain. The disqus system is inherently better than wordpress.  You can sort by individual, reply to a specific comment, and you can rate comments as good or bad.  The problem is that it is inverted.  Newest comments should go at the bottom.  Please be patient while we work through some of the kinks.  I'm hoping we can get that fixed soon.

I'm going to address some of the other features later.  The Terps now have a huge game tomorrow and that takes precedent since that is the sole reason this site exists in the first place.

Unfortunately, I didn't watch any of the game because I was stuck at a client event.  My wife inadvertantly turned off my DVR so the game didn't tape.

It looks like the Terps finished strong to hold of the execution.  11-0 run to close is impressive given how much pressure the Terps must have been feeling down the stretch.

The result is that the Terps have yet another chance to play their way in to the NCAA Tournament.  I believe that if Va Tech loses to UNC and MD beats Wake; then we are in.  If both win, then I think it comes down to our semifinal performances.

The bottom line is that the Terps control their own destiny.  They have a chance to play their way in.  Wake is a team that is only playing for seeding in the dance.  The Terps are fighting for their lives.  Sure, we are outsized and undermanned.  But, the argument can be made that we will have the best player on court tomorrow.

Vazquez can put the Terps on his shoulders and carry us to victory. He can do it.  Tomorrow is his chance this mark on Terripan basketball a positive one.   I think he can do it.

At the very least, Terp fans can rejoice tonight with the small victory of having advanced to the second round of the ACC Tournament. That is not exactly something to hang your hat on; but it is a helluva lot better than where many of us thought we would be.
