I realize that I need not put "#25" in front of Maryland in the title; but has been so long, I could not resist.  As someone noted in an earlier thread, Fairfield is 2-0, so tonight's game could be competitive for 25-30 minutes.

I say this because the Stags' two wins have come against an A-10 (Rhode Island) and Big East (Fordham) opponent.  Granted, Fordham and Rhodie are hardly at the top of their conference, but  certainly it indicates that Fairfield possesses some mid-major wallop.

If the Terps strive to play as good as their ranking, then they should be properly focused.  Vasquez played through an off-shooting night in the season opener against Charleston-Southern, so I expect him to try and get on track early.

My guess is that Fairfield will ultimately fall short because the Terps have such a deep bench.  They may have one or two ACC caliber players; but there is no way that they have eight of them.

All told, tonight's game is a decent early season test.  However, if we find ourselves in OT like we did against Northeastern two years ago, I may have to put a fist through my laptop.
